Located in the outer edge of the Austan system, Austan III represents another one of the many frozen planets in the sector. Its entire surface consists of a flat, never-ending plane of ice with the occasional plateau. Few outsiders ever visit the planet due to its remoteness and unfavorable atmosphere. Its landscape also acts as a deterrent to foreigners, keeping away those who cannot stand the endless cold.

On rare occasions, ice caves are formed, but stalagmites greatly limit passage to these by galactic wanderers, and past the physical obstacles lie snow demons, anxiously awaiting curious and unsuspecting prey. Outside, jexxels and tauntauns can be seen wandering the barren landscape in search of sparse pockets of food.
