Ghomrassen is the largest of Tatooine's moons. When viewed from the planet's desert surface it appears to be a dusty gray orb that is about the same size as a single credit.

Like many large moons surrounding planets, Ghomrassen is geologically dead and has probably been so for as long as it has existed. It is well cratered from the bombardment of asteroids that it has prevented from hitting Tatooine over the years.

Ghomrassen has never been a site of mining as many other moons have been. Its remoteness from the Galactic Core and the primitiveness of Tatooine's native people have spared it such a fate. However, pirates and smugglers were widely known to have constructed bases on its surface until more recent times. There were reports that the New Republic removed several pirate bases within the first six months of taking control of the system.
