Solag is a habitable world, but somewhat cooler than what the average space traveler is accustomed to. Solag's polar ice caps occupy nearly 43% of Solag's surface. In between the icecaps is land suitable for habitation, but prone to lengthy and frequent cold snaps. Interestingly, the vegetation has adapted to this and will continue to grow in up to 12 centimeters (5 inches) of snow. The only source of heat in Solag's habitable section is the geothermal hot springs which can be tapped to heat any personal dwelling on the surface. It is believed that the source of this heat is from the volcanoes which occupy a small portion of the poles, however, some evidence may point to the planet's molten core as being the actual source of the heat.
