Planet: Irfan G
Table of Contents [hide]

Irfan G, one of seven moons that orbits the planet of Irfan and one of four that orbit as a quadrilateral, is nestled in the southern quadrant of the Vaxal System of the Callia Sector. Irfan G is considered a larger moon in relation to its mass and circumference; the surface of Irfan G is made up of lava and volcanic gases, making this moon a scientist's nightmare. The unpredictable volcanic eruptions and lack of landmass provide a challenge for the study of seismic and volcanology data. The moon is constantly covered in clouds of ash, and lava can be seen spewing from the surface and into the clouds.

Galaxy-renowned scientists believe that the unusual and unique gravitational pull from the sister moons as well as planet Irfan itself causes violent seismic reactions that split the core and cause it to violently erupt. This state of chaos creates an environment where the core can never cool and solidify to a stable state.

What little data that has been transmitted about the moon comes from expeditions that ultimately never returned, resulting in sentients of Irfan and neighboring planets abandoning any hope of colonizing Irfan G or exploiting any resources that may be present. The clouds of ash that encompass the moon make it very difficult for probes to analyze their distance to the lava surface or allow ships to penetrate without the intakes causing a crash. Irfan G is written off by the controlling government as a no-fly entity, and local security has strict authority to detain any individual or impound any ship that goes near the moon.
