Discovered by ExplorCorps orbital dynamics researchers, Seven Flames was long believed to be entirely liquid, churned by powerful and complex gravitational forces and seared by nearly constant exposure to intense solar radiation. However, industrial prospectors discovered in Year 17 CGT that Seven Flames was tidally locked to the main sequence and was exceedingly rich in valuable metals, producing a robust magnetosphere that helped protect the orb from the constant stellar flares. It was on the planet's dark side that a solid region was encountered which could serve as the foundation for a surface outpost, and it was here that a research station was established to develop techniques for extracting valuable content from the surrounding magma ocean. This dome, now known as Seventh Joy, has since grown into something of a novelty resort, attracting vacationers who are particularly interested in witnessing the awesome forces at work on this rare galactic oddity.
