Algara VI is extremely cold but still manages to retain a small amount of liquid water beneath its icy crust. Volcanic activity here and there warms the ice enough to melt and tiny fish swarm in the underground lakes. Attempts have been made to market these fish as attractive pets, due to their beautiful colored fins. Unfortunately, outside the delicately controlled temperatures of their natural environment, they die easily, almost within minutes, though their lifespan in the wild can be many years. Oddly, this feature has made them more popular as pets for those who like a challenge and they are marketed as such. In some societies in the Lambda sector, the ability to keep an Algara VI Icefish alive for more than a week is a mark of high prestige.
