Last Updated: Year 16 Day 364
Planet: Eadu
Table of Contents [hide]

Thick clouds of noxious fumes dominate the atmosphere of Eadu. They bubble up from the planets vast swamps cling to rivers as the planet's weather system churns and spreads them across the world. The clouds hang thick in the bowls of Eadu's craters and swirl below the peaks of its mountain ranges, drifting in and out of the valleys and chasms between them. The chemical composition of these clouds contributes to Eadu's notoriously violent and frequent thunderstorms.

Colonization of Eadu began in the waning years of the High Republic as part of a Republic program to offer homesteads to landless tenant farmers and ranchers, but the program's efforts on Eadu were short-lived. The bog clouds, toxic rain, and unpredictable storm systems made farming difficult and deterred many would-be immigrants. Some, however, who were desperate for land and livelihood or simply unable to leave the planet found modest success higher in the mountains, above the cloud line.

Eadu's location was rediscovered early in Year 24. The system's coordinates were mysteriously removed from galactic archives during the tumultuous period of restructuring after the clone wars. The planet was remote and insignificant enough that the removal of the system from the galactic records on Coruscant went entirely unnoticed. It is even speculated that the removal was not an accident at all, but a deliberate attempt to hide Eadu's location from the public by someone with plans for the world. Whether the purpose for this obfuscation was completed before the system was recharted by cartographers remains unknown.
