The remote Hoth system is located in the Ison Corridor along the fringes of civilized space, and its sixth planet is a frozen, unpopulated world also known as Hoth. The system also contains a dangerous asteroid belt, formed billions of years ago by the collision of two planets. Within the belt, there is rumored to be a pure aurodium asteroid, called "Kerane's Folly" after the prospector who discovered it, left to verify its purity, then could never find it again. On some asteroids grow delicate crystal ferns, which could be a primitive silicon-based lifeform.

The remote Hoth system is located in the Javin sector. It has many planets, including: Hoth, Nushk, Shron, Jhas, Ordaj, and Biosh. These planets are generally hospitable, usually containing some element of cold, but most of them have plenty of water and lush forests. Located near planet Hoth is a large and dangerous asteroid belt, which was formed billions of years ago by the collision of two planets. This was a result of an unfortunate consequence of the Hoth system causing some planets to fall out of orbit. Currently,  Nushk is en route to falling out of orbit as well. Some asteroids were once used by pirates who used gigantic space slugs to protect their outposts. Unfortunately these space slugs grew, feeding on the crystal ferns and eventually consumed the outposts. Travelers should be wary when entering the asteroid field.
