Appazanna Engineering Works of Kashyyyk designed the Auzituck Anti-Slaver Gunship (the name roughly translates to "liberated one") to fulfill a number of diverse combat roles, chief amongst them the combating of Trandoshan slaver raids in the Wookiee's home world. The Auzituck excelled at this role, being fast, well-armed, and a small target. The narrow, rectangular forward fuselage features stepped bubble canopies that offer excellent all-round vision for the pilot, who sits in the higher of two control stations, and for the copilot/gunner, who sits at the second, lower control station and controls the gunship's trio of rapid-fire Sureggi laser cannons. Propulsion is provided by a pair of large engines mounted on stub wings above and aft of the cockpit, which provide a commendable level of sublight speed and acceleration. Entry and egress for the crew and the small number of passengers was accomplished through a large door in the rear of the fuselage below the dorsal boom. A pair of fixed, teardrop-shaped skids serve as landing gear, mounted on small pylons to the lower rear of the main fuselage.

The performance and style of the original Auzituck gunship have seen close copies manufactured in small quantities by a number of independent ship manufacturers. Some of the proprietary equipment, such as the rapid-fire Sureggi laser cannons, have been replaced by components of local manufacture, but in general, these copies perform quite closely to the original Appazanna-manufactured ships. Auzituck-class gunships were previously manufactured with interiors of wood from wroshyr trees, with tree sap serving as the glue to hold everything in place. Off-world Auzitucks typically have more mundane interiors of durasteel, as wroshyr wood is nearly impossible to obtain off Kashyyyk.
