The Space Master Medium Transport was designed by Kuat Drive Yards as a cargo ship that could fulfil multiple logistic roles. The design incorporated aspects from the YT series and BFF-1, such as the circular command deck at the fore of the ship and cargo modules mounted on the sides. Only a few of these transports ended up being produced, yet those that made it out of the shipyard did find a buyer.

Using modular cargo bays in the design, the ship is able to accommodate a variety of different shipment types with ease. To help defend these shipments, there are several heavy lasers equipped on the Space Master; however, this ship is still found with an escort in most cases. In the event of engine failure or some other issue that would prevent travel, there is enough food and water to sustain the crew and any passengers for three months.

Despite demands for more spacious cargo haulers, this ship still finds use with different groups even now. This is primarily due to the ship's ability to fill a variety of roles, however, the ship has also been known to keep running on even the most limited maintenance. This has allowed the ship to outlast its production run, despite few suppliers offering replacement parts. Not to mention some collectors also seek out this ship due to its rarity and the unique design of its outer structure, extending the Space Master's longevity in the galaxy even to this day.
