Blade Modulation Control (Lightsaber Parts)
Table of Contents [hide]

A blade modulation control is a critical energy regulator, using complex electronics to directly manipulate the properties of the emitter's containment field and the volume of the crystal chamber's plasma stream, within a limited spectrum of safe tolerances. External controls permit the lightsaber's user to manually tune the precise length and diameter of the blade to suit their individual fighting style and physical size. Once the shape of the blade has been optimized, the intensity of the plasma stream is then dialed in for the most efficient energy transfer. These settings are typically kept as the default and only additionally adjusted for specific tasks. While the internal energy modulation circuits themselves tend to be more or less identical, the external control knobs are usually stylized to match the hilt that they were intended for. Lightsaber regulators are rare but have been produced in sufficient numbers that they do occasionally surface in scavengers markets where they command a respectable price.
