Known for its sweet, heady fragrance and brilliant blossoms, Millaflower is one of Naboo’s gifts to the galaxy. A ground flower that comes in a variety of colours, with red and blue being the most common, Millaflower blossoms have five petals around a central aggregation of stamens and pistil that exude a perfume described as a mix of vanilla and freshly peeled orange. This perfume is known to have a relaxing effect on most oxygen breathing sentient species. The plant is hardy and can grow in a variety of soils, which makes it a favourite of horticulturists throughout the galaxy. On its native Naboo, the plant can also be processed to produce an organic tranquiliser that powerful enough to kill in sufficient doses. On Naboo, the production and sale of this tranquiliser is strictly regulated and restricted to licensed pharmacists, although this restriction is generally ignored off-world. An active black market exists for both the flower and distilled tranquiliser, to the extent that a Senate review was conducted on their use in the years before the Clone Wars.
