A type of garlic formerly native to the planet Anzat, Anzati snot garlic has spread throughout the galaxy due to its strong, spicy taste and different flavour profile depending on the age of the clove used. Younger garlic shoots have a more delicate, almost citrus tang to them, while aged cloves have an almost earthy taste similar to truffles. As such, Anzati snot garlic is an in-demand herb from one side of the galaxy to the next. The plant’s trefoil leaves are also used in cooking, as they have a delicate flavour almost like watercress. Snot garlic bulbs have a non-culinary use as well. Originally discovered on the planet Monsolar, a bulb left under a pillow will cure the person sleeping on it of syrox infestation. Syrox, which are large, wormlike creatures that feed on flesh, spend their initial growth stages burrowing into the flesh of sentients. The strong aroma of a clove of snot garlic will cause the larval syrox to exit the host’s mouth where it can then be destroyed.
