Planet: Omwat I
Table of Contents [hide]

The primary planet of a system with the same name, Omwat is best known for its peaceful landscape. From the gigantic forests that are homes to millions of organisms to the more vibrant jungles, almost the entire plant is covered in greenery. The many animals that live in the wilderness are mostly herbivores with the occasional predator that feeds off of them. With a few exceptions, none of the predators are considered dangerous to sentient species.

Colonized during the era of the Old Republic, there are a few villages still hidden beneath the massive canopies. Barely noticeable from orbit, the long-standing colony enjoys yearly activities that include festive dances and games. The few inhabitants that have moved off-planet are often surprised to discover the rather chaotic state that the galaxy is in. The colonists of Omwat are believed to have exceptional mental abilities, learning anything put before them quickly and with little difficulty. Most off-world Omwat colonists can be found in the fields of research or within the area of education, teaching others what they have learned.

Visitors to Omwat are encouraged to take guided tours of the forests and jungles, getting a chance to see the beauty hidden from space by the treetops. Trade ships arrive weekly carrying supplies that the colony occasionally needs and to pick up some of the few exports that Omwat produces. While a few corporations have offered to set-up shop and bring more revenue to the planet, all have been quietly declined as the inhabitants enjoy the quiet and peaceful, if not naïve, lifestyle of being detached away from the majority of the galaxy's problems.
