Planet: Kokash
Table of Contents [hide]

The planet Kokash, in the Kokash system, is very small. Barely larger than a moon, it is the den of many small and hidden cities which smugglers use as storage for any number of illegal cargos. During the era of the Old Republic, this planet was the sight of the slaughter of Kokash, as many smugglers call it.

A Fleet of Republic ships sent to curtail the smuggling in this system pursued a few smugglers to this planet and captured them. When other smugglers learned of the Republic ships in orbit and the capture of the smugglers many loaded their cargos and attempted to flee. The Republic ships in orbit destroyed many of the ships, killing almost all of the smugglers and capturing others. When the battle was over, the Commander of the Republic Fleet ordered the bombardment of the surface to destroy any remaining stockpiles of illegal goods.

Today evidence of the bombardment to Kokash's surface is visible even from the surface, but that has not stopped the smugglers. Using their ship's weapons, and unfaltering determination, many smugglers have carved niches in this planet. Making this planet a prime place to store illegal goods and one of the safer places in the Kokash sector for smuggling.

This planet is also the believed site of the Grand Scheme, from smuggler lore. As legend has it, many years ago a human named Rigo Musevini conned over a hundred different smugglers out of their illegal cargos and left them all stranded on the harsh surface of the planet. Rigo Musevini himself met a bitter end a few years later when the irate smugglers caught up with him, but even today many young smugglers admire his bravado and eye for the main chance.
