Tifnyl III A is the larger of two moons that orbit the fire and ice planet Tifnyl III. Nearly half of the moon's surface is taken up by active volcanoes, whilst craters – remnants of volcanoes that have long since become dormant – are scattered across much of the rest.
The gas that is constantly generated by the volcanic terrain provides sustenance for several varieties of plants which are similar in that they all have extremely large leaves for gas absorption. These leaves are equipped with large numbers of stomata on their underside which absorb the gas by the process of diffusion. At this time no animal life has been discovered on Tifnyl III A.
