Dallenor is a small, warm world, home of the avian Fosh. Humid jungles of mighty toa wood trees cover almost half the available land surface, the thickly-laced branches and broad leaves forming a thick canopy that shrouds the forest floor in a kind of permanent twilight. Beneath these mighty trees, many of which are over one hundred fifty meters in height, with trunks four meters in diameter, the jungle floor is home to a wide variety of fungi, which thrive in the damp, dark world beneath the canopy. These fungi can be extremely diverse in appearance and physiology, ranging from thick carpets of white filamentous strands, through puffballs of every color, and even mushrooms as tall as a Wookie, with caps wide enough to shelter a Hutt from the almost incessant drizzle of water droplets falling from the canopy. While many of these fungi are benign to most sentients, there are a number of varieties that are dangerous, even lethal to most races, employing a variety of toxins and other more exotic mechanisms to entrap their prey.

In drier areas, the jungle gives way to more open forests of hardwood trees, which is where many of the native Fosh build their tree-top communities. While not as tall or broad as the trees in the wetter areas, most of these hardwoods can easily support a family or two, living in simple, yet beautifully decorated tree-houses and linked to other trees through a network of suspension bridges. Further out, the trees give way to wide savannas of bluish grass, home to wandering herds of grazers and nomadic groups of Fosh that depend on them for their livelihoods, trading with both the forest communities and the villages dotting the coast of the small, landlocked sea in the northern hemisphere.

Dallenor has only recently been rediscovered by an exploration team, who were able to persuade the otherwise insular Fosh that a limited amount of trade, especially in modern medicines and environmental protections would benefit the whole race. The exploration team helped the natives establish a small spaceport on the planet's surface to facilitate trade. The charismatic leader of the exploration team was able to convince the Fosh leaders he met to discuss their past, and discovered that, prior to the New Sith Wars that began over two milennia BCGT, the Fosh were an active presence in the Three-Besh sector, trading with the Gran on Kinyen. The events of the war, however, convinced the Fosh that they needed to retreat into obscurity to avoid any chance of being devastated by the conflict, and so they undertook to remove themselves and any mention of their race from local and galactic records.
