The Japreal system is home to the planet Onderon, along with seven others, which was once the home of a primitive race of humanoids. These eight planets orbit around a K-IV type star named Prael. Onderon is the only planet with moons (four). Onderon is the most hospitable planet, while Bara is hot and dry but the atmosphere is breathable to humans.

During ancient times, when the Mandalorians waged war against each other, Dxun and Onderon were among the first worlds to be conquered by the brave Mandalorians. However, there were some people from the Old Republic that intervened, and the Mandalorians were pushed out of the system and it's worlds. Then the system came under the supervision of the Republic until a new government could be installed.

Many centuries later, when the Republic fell, no one really cared about this system, so it remained unclaimed and neutral until the Mandalorians returned.
